On Wednesday, May 17, Civitas Networks for Health members from across the country gathered virtually for our monthly all-member forum, Network News. During this month’s meeting, we shared network updates, upcoming events, member highlights, and received a presentation from Civitas member West Health Institute (WHI). Our spotlight presentation featured Liane Wardlow, PhD, MS, who is the Senior Director of Clinical Research and Telehealth with WHI. Liane highlighted WHI’s collaboration with the University of Virginia (UVA) Department of Geriatrics and the Mid-Atlantic Telehealth Resource Center (MARTC) in their co-creation of the Center of Excellence for Telehealth and Aging (CE4TA).

The Gravity Pilots Affinity Group is a peer-to-peer learning forum for entities participating in the real-world testing of Gravity SDOH data standards. On Tuesday, April 4, Civitas Networks for Health members gathered for our first quarterly Public Policy Briefing presentation of 2023 with the team from Troutman Pepper Strategies and Alston & Bird. The Government Relations team discussed the current Congressional outlook, work underway with FY2024 Appropriations and our Health Data Utility request, PAHPA Reauthorization, the President’s Budget Request, and recent administrative activities.

On Wednesday, March 15, Civitas Networks for Health members from across the country gathered virtually for our monthly all-member forum, Network News. During this month’s meeting, we shared network updates, member highlights, upcoming Civitas programming, and heard from our SDOH and Interoperability Workgroup and Health Data Research Workgroup. Our spotlight presentation featured Karen Johnson, Ph.D., who is the Vice President of Practice Advancement for the American Academy of Family Physicians. Karen highlighted AAFP’s work on advancing value-based payment and discussed the principles detailed in her recent opinion piece coauthored with Dr. Diane Rittenhouse, From Volume to Value: Progress, Rationale, and Guiding Principles.

Civitas Networks for Health Member Roundtable: Navigating Exchange, Management, and Use of Sensitive Reproductive Health Data - Legal Implications and Tools to Support

Thank you to all who were able to attend our second session of the Member Roundtable: Navigating Exchange, Management, and Use of Sensitive Reproductive Health Data. In session two of this series, we focused on the legal implications and tools that HIEs and other data-led health collaboratives have to support management of sensitive sexual reproductive health data concerns after the Dobbs decision last year. This roundtable was moderated by experts within Civitas membership sharing perspectives from their organization’s work as well as their own subject matter expertise.

This Roundtable was one of a multipart series which is intended to be engaging, a place to bring questions, and an opportunity to uncover important actions.
